  • Electric Vehicles- next steps
  • Funding local projects- next round!
  • Chorlton anti-crime pilot- latest
  • Co-op AGM

All our meetings last just one hour. We focus on what we can do to make the Co-op work better for members and the community and how we can work with other co-ops.

Chorlton Funeralcare hub to close

We hear that the iconic Chorlton Funeralcare hub is to close.

  • What will this mean for Chorlton?
  • What will happen to the building?
  • What about the library of old coop books?

We hope to have or get answers at our meeting on 16 May - so make sure you come along and bring others too.

Hardy LaneHardy Lane Coop rooms closed (again)

The Co-op has decided - again - that it needs to close the Hardy Lane coop rooms for safety reasons while emergency lighting is fitted. This has a big impact on local groups.

Come along on 16 May to find out more.

Co-op AGM and voting

If you're a Co-op member then don't forget to vote in the elections for National Member Council and member-nominated directors before 13 May. You can also cast your vote on motions for the AGM, or attend in person on Saturday 18th May at Manchester Central.

Make sure you cast your votes for candidates before 13 May

In the North West there are three vacancies on the National Members Council with 24 Candidates (best put the kettle on).

You can get the details of these candidates here.

There are three candidates for two directorships, so real choice here too:

  • Paul Chandler - former chief executive of Traidcraft
  • Gareth Thomas - former director at John Lewis
  • Sarah McCarthy-Fry - finance director GKN aerospace, former Labour Co-op MP

The AGM is Saturday 18 May 2019, Exchange Hall, Manchester Central, Petersfield, Manchester, M2 3GX at 10.30 am

We're the Chorlton Co-op Cluster - local Co-op members making our voice heard in the Co-op and working with other co-ops in the community. We hold short informal meetings every two months and we organise local activity around issues like Fairtrade. The Co-op recently made a short filmabout us for people interested in forming groups like ours in other areas.

Anyone who is interested in co-ops and co-operation is welcome to join us.
