The Co-op is selling its funeral home in Chorlton, Manchester. It used to be the Gaumont cinema where the Bee Gees first performed.
Developers are trying to buy the site so they can knock it down and build expensive apartments.
But there is also a community-led bid to buy the site and turn it into a fabulous shared space for the community and a tribute to the Bee Gees.
We want the Co-op to support this by giving us more time, accepting a fair price, and rejecting buyers who are proposing inappropriate development of the site.
The Co-op is running a national campaign to save endangered spaces - we think a good place to start we be right here with a Co-op property in Manchester.
Please sign our petition asking the Co-op to help us save our endangered space.
Dear Co-op, please help us us save a valuable community asset for the community. Give preference to the community-led bid for the Chorlton Gaumont.
