Barry Clark: The Northern Art Workers’ Guild and the Arts & Crafts Movement in Manchester

Friday 26 September, 2:00 pm BST

Manchester was a hidden gem in the Arts and Crafts movement. This beautiful book tells the history of a northern craft revival that was neither rural, nor London-focused, but an essential component of the Arts and Crafts movement in the heart of industrial England. William Morris was a frequent visitor to the city, and Manchester had the only Morris & Co shop outside London. Author Barry Clark shares this little-known, but fascinating story.
