Chorlton Community Cooperative

Working Together for Chorlton

Not one, but two grant fund schemes,  for community groups to encourage more people to get on their bikes! Apply now!

Now that Chorlton’s new cycleway is in place – and Manchester is European Capital of Cycling –  there’s no excuse to not get on your bike and leave the car at home, especially for those shorter journeys.  Are you involved with community activity that encourages cycling? Then these two funds could really make things happen. Good luck!

Manchester Active Funding for Cycling Activity

Manchester Active is offering small grants of up to £500 to community groups to engage children and young people between the ages of 6-16 years in cycling, including putting on events and activities. Please see here for further details and to apply.

Please ensure you give a detailed account of what you would like to use the funding for with a detailed breakdown of costs. If you would like to discuss the grant further before applying or need additional support, please email .

Big Bike Revival Funding

Cycling UK have announced that their Big Bike Revival Funding is now open for summer interventions.
The Big Bike Revival is an intervention for adults aimed at encouraging an uptake in cycling. By providing solutions to perceived barriers, adults are enabled to learn to how to cycle and to increase their cycling levels for short, everyday journeys. Events focus on presenting cycling as a practical, normal and habitual way to get around locally. Grant funding applications are now open for the summer 2024 delivery and are expected to close on 25 June

Please note, the fund may close sooner if capacity is reached. Cycling UK therefore recommend contacting your local cycling development officer or the central team for information on the availability of funding, for your region before applying. Contact details for the whole team and all details needed  can be found at:
