Working Together for Chorlton

Chorlton Voice is looking for ideas for placing blue plaques around Chorlton.

As you may know, this was a scheme first set up in London to pay homage to ‘noteworthy people’ and although Manchester has its own scheme, with different-coloured plaques for people, buildings and events, Chorlton Voice want to standardise them so they’re all blue.

They are looking to the people of Chorlton to suggest who, what and where should have a Blue Plaque. To kick it off, they’ve chosen the Bowling Green Hotel, which was one of the first pubs in Chorlton, founded on the site in the 1780s.

Would you like to suggest a blue plaque for someone or somewhere?  Drop Chorlton Voice a line. Outline your idea and let them know the reasons behind your suggestion.
