The annual Chorlton Arts Festival has been going since 2002 and since 2019 it has been organised under the umbrella of Chorlton Voice. Our ethos is one of accessibility for all and the conviction that everyone can be an artist. No fees are paid. It usually takes place at the end of May and includes visual arts of all kinds, music of all genres, poetry, creative writing, performance, dance, creativity workshops – whatever you enjoy you will find in the Festival. The Festival is supported by local businesses and the Council; organised entirely by local volunteers; local artists and venues give of their skills and facilities, so most events are free to attend, making sure there are no barriers to participation and enjoyment.
This is truly a community arts festival, with schools, groups and local artists taking part across the age span and from all parts of Chorlton. Artists from, or with a connection to Chorlton or nearby are welcome. All venues are local and within walking distance, so it provides an opportunity to celebrate creativity on your doorstep. Information about taking part is published on the website and across Chorlton – have a look and when the dates are published, make sure you put them in your diary and be a part of this exciting community event.
