Chorlton’s much-loved library will soon close for a major refurbishment, re-opening in 2025.
The library will close on Friday March 23 2024.
There won’t be any library services in Chorlton between Monday 25 March and Saturday 6 April.
From Monday 8 April, there’ll be a temporary library set up in the extension (rear meeting room). This will offer a reduced service, including computers and wifi, book reservation and collection, and a reduced stock of books.
The temporary library will be open
Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays – 9am-5pm
Late opening Tuesdays – 9am-8pm
The library is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Regular activities in the library will move to the Edge Theatre & Arts Centre on Manchester Road.
These include:
Tuesdays, 10-11am – Age-friendly Coffee Morning
Fridays 11am (term time) – Storytime
Fridays 11am (school holidays) – Children’s Crafts
Fridays 2-4pm – A Grand Day Out (over-50s social group)
The new library will open in 2025.
