We’re thrilled to see the return of the Repair Cafe after three years away!
A Repair Cafe isn’t like the Repair Shop on TV – you don’t drop off your item, tell your story, then come back to find it all shiny and new. The beauty of the Repair Cafe is that it’s all about learning – it’s a free service, but the deal is that you help too!
While the experts (all volunteers!) can’t guarantee fixes (on electrical, bikes, tech, clothing, furniture etc), they’ll certainly give it a good go, show you what they’re doing and help you to do it too. This is all about community – helping each other, working together, up-skilling and putting useful items back into service instead of into landfill.
You don’t need to book in advance for the monthly repair sessions, just take your item along and book in with the expert you need when you get there.
And before you go – are you good at fixing things? The Cafe is always on the look-out for volunteer menders – help your community to be cleaner, greener and less wasteful. Repair local!
