Established in 1989, the Chorlton Civic Society is an independent, constituted community association, concerned with the quality of the area and its surroundings. We are members of the NW Association of Civic Societies. We meet the second Monday of every other month (January, March, May, July, September, November), 7.30pm. All are welcome – there are no membership fees and we run entirely on donations. To make a donation or take out a standing order in support of the Civic Society, click here .

Everyone welcome, but only if you fancy having a nice chat! Come and meet some new people. You'll find them at the Garden Bar (formerly Font) opposite the old Baths on Manchester Road.
Join fellow knitters for a brew and a needle-based natter. Bring your own knitting, or help knit something for the community. The group has already made seven beautiful blankets which have been donated to the Boaz Trust, as well as items of knitwear for babies. You don't have to stay for the whole session, drop in as you please. Share knowledge, skills and inspiration and have fun!
Join a friendly and green-fingered crew at the Mottram Avenue Community Veggie Planters! Help out, learn stuff and share the wealth. Thanks to Southway Housing, who work in partnership with the community to deliver this wonderful growing space.
